Ashwagandha is thought to interact with the body’s stress-response system, sometimes called the HPA axis, which helps regulate cortisol levels. Because of this, it is often discussed in relation to helping support emotional balance and sleep during periods of ongoing stress.

L-Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is often associated with a state sometimes described as calm alertness.
Studies suggest L-Theanine may influence brain wave activity linked with relaxation while still allowing the mind to remain focused. It is often used to help support a calm, attentive mental state during busy or demanding days.

Kava (Piper methysticum) has been traditionally used in Pacific cultures and is often associated with relaxation.
The plant contains compounds known as kavalactones, which are thought to interact with pathways in the nervous system involved in relaxation.
Although Ashwagandha, L-Theanine and Kava are all associated with emotional wellbeing, they are often discussed for supporting different aspects of the body’s stress response.
